Central and East European Chapter in IFG structure represents 15 countries and 36 members - about 25 % of IFG membership. The countries covered by the member of our chapter are: Belarus, Bulgaria, Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine. These countries have more than 300 million people and their economic development is very different from one to another. Usually these are transforming economies having as common characteristic a growing GDP and rising exports. Although factoring is a relatively new product in the region, having its beginning in the early 1990´s, the turn of the century saw a new era with volumes exceeding growth seen in this sector in previous times, mostly due to expending internationalization of trade and ever growing domestic demand. This was also one of the reasons IFG decided to establish a special Chapter within the association focusing on the Central and Eastern European region. Our vision was to unite financial institutions in the field of factoring and promote the factoring industry in the national markets of Central and Eastern European countries.
Our Chapter’s goals are: · To promote IFG in the region · To apply the global concept to the local environment · To create new business connection among members and their clients · To find new members among countries not present until now in IFG · To share our experiences among our members, to educate staff and to help newcomers develop their organization structure. Our active role is seen through the organization of regional yearly one-day conference, education events and national association promotion events where local factoring companies have the possibility to share best practices, network and meet IFG members from other regions.
We suppose that this is enough, but we have more ideas. We will be happy to further help our members solve their challenges. The Chapter’s Board Members are experienced managers - being in the factoring industry for more than 15 years. Our owners are strong international financial companies with clear focus in the development of international factoring.
